
The Information Resource Center – IRC – is part of the Public Affairs Section of the American Consulate General. It is not a common library but a digital resource center that provides specialized, substantive and accurate information about the United States with emphasis on U.S. government policies and U.S. bilateral relations. It serves a select community of government officials, journalists, researches and prominent institutions with interests in U.S issues
The IRC, using both electronic and print materials, responds to inquiries on:

Among the special services of the Information Resource Center to select users are bibliographies and other items produced to support American Consulate programs such as lectures, conferences, seminars, etc. It also provides information on subjects related to USA to important Brazilian institutions located in its consular district which includes: Bahia, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, and Sergipe.

In order to support the Consulate’s programs and events, the IRC develops bibliographies and information packages about bilateral key subjects.
SEDI – Selective Electronic Dissemination of Information
The IRC disseminates current U.S. government documents via e-mail to users grouped by areas of interests: Economic Security and Trade, Democracy and Human Rights, Global Issues, Information and Communications, Political Security and U.S. Society, Values sand Policies.
